| PROJECT TITLE | Detecting liver cancer |
| CATEGORY | Liver Cancer, MRI Diagnosis |
| PROJECT DESCRIPTION |
This project will help physicians and patients quickly and easily determine whether a suspicious spot on the liver or other organ is a tumor, or a less worrisome lesions such as a cyst. Currently, surgeons must biopsy small lesions to find out whether they are malignant or not. This surgery is painful, costly and prone to complications. It is often performed on patient's who are already debilitated from cancer or other diseases. This imaging would eliminate the need for biopsy in many cases, and could be used for a wide variety of cancers in different locations in the body. |
