| PROJECT TITLE | Quicker healing for kidney cancer patients |
| CATEGORY | Kidney Cancer, Surgery |
| PROJECT DESCRIPTION |
Surgery is a mainstay treatment of kidney cancer. Over the years, surgeons have developed techniques to allow the surgery to take place through a very small incision, and to remove only the diseased tissue. However, patients often suffer from post surgery bleeding and from poor healing. This research will test a biologically compatible gel that will seal the blood vessels AND provide healing factors at the site of the surgery. When this treatment is perfected, surgeons will have a new tool to effectively treat kidney cancer. |
