NORTHBROOK, IL Ginny Hotaling, formerly the Chief of Staff for retired U.S. Congressman John E. Porter, has joined the Goldman Philanthropic Partnerships as Managing Director.  The Partnerships is a new 501(c)(3) not-for-profit foundation dedicated to seeking out innovative research and treatments for cancer and other catastrophic diseases and funding these pioneering projects.

“With more than a decade of government leadership combined with nearly 20 years of education experience, Ginny will be instrumental in managing our day-to-day operations as our foundation continues to grow,” said Chairman George N. Goldman, who co-founded the Partnerships with his wife, Judith, the organization’s current president.  The Goldmans, who are Chicago entrepreneurs, established the Partnerships after Judith’s battle against multiple myeloma, an incurable blood cancer, which has been in remission for more than a decade.

Ms. Hotaling will oversee the daily operations and priorities of the foundation, which continues to focus on establishing unique funding partnerships involving innovative researchers, dedicated philanthropists and the Partnerships.  These partnerships, known as Inspired Ventures, offer donors an opportunity to target their charitable contributions to groundbreaking cures and treatments.

During her 12 years as Chief of Staff for Congressman Porter, Ms. Hotaling managed three district offices and a staff of eight to coordinate and execute numerous public service programs.  She was in charge of a wide array of congressional activities designed to assist constituents and affect change at the local, state and federal level.  Ms. Hotaling also represented the Congressman as liaison with numerous constituencies and is experienced in legislative affairs and advocacy efforts designed to impact health care programs.

In addition to her work in government, Ms. Hotaling has extensive experience as an educator and administrator at schools on Chicago’s North Shore and in Arlington, Virginia.   She also has been involved in a range of volunteer and community activities including membership on the Board of Trustees of Roycemore School in Evanston and on the Glenview Independence Day Celebration Commission.

Ms. Hotaling attended Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education with a teaching minor in American and World History.
